WHAT ARE ESSENTIAL OILS?
Essential oils are volatile, aromatic compounds from leaves, bark, stems, roots, resin, and seeds of plants or the resin of fruit. They are steam distilled or cold pressed for their amazing benefits to your emotional and physical health. They are safe, natural, and cost effective.

3 WAYS TO USE ESSENTIAL OILS:

AROMATICALLY: Inhaled, the molecules of essential oils reach the amygdala – the center for emotions in the limbic system – and link our sense of smell to our ability to learn emotionally. You can inhale directly from the bottle, use an aromatherapy diffuser, or use a spray bottle for aromatic benefits.

 TOPICALLY: Essential oils are fat-soluble and are absorbed directly into the blood stream when applied topically. They work very quickly. Typically, essential oils are applied topically to an area of concern on the body.

Note: Dilution with a carrier oil is recommended for most oils due to their potency and purity.

 INTERNALLY: This delivery application applies to doTERRA’s Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade essential oils. They can be added to water, taken in a capsule or dropped under the tongue.

HOW STRESS AFFECTS YOU:
Under “normal” conditions, people are able to maintain homeostasis – a state of optimal health and well-being. But stress, like we are experiencing during this time, causes the body to go into “fight or flight” mode. In turn, the brain, adrenal glands, peripheral nervous system and other systems work to secrete hormones like adrenaline and cortisol. These hormones can suppress your body’s digestive, reproductive and IMMUNE SYSTEM because all resources are directed to supporting your heart and brain functions. Essential oils can effectively support the reprogramming of your stress response on a chemical level.

HOW TO USE: *suggestions
MORNING: Add an uplifting combination of oils (such as 3 drops Peppermint and 3 drops Wild Orange) to your diffuser. Add a drop of Black Spruce and Elevation to your hand, rub together and inhale and rub the excess on the back of your neck. Apply InTune or Balance to your feet.

AFTERNOON: Refill the diffuser with an uplifting oil or combo. Apply a combination of oils (such as Adaptiv or Frankincense) over your heart and/or reflex points.

BEDTIME: Apply Vetiver, Cedarwood and/or Balance on the feet and around neck. Spray your pillow with Lavender or Serenity.

WHY RESTFUL SLEEP IS IMPORTANT:
During restful sleep, your conscious brain is fully or partially suspended, allowing you to restore and maintain emotional, mental and physical health.
